Welcome to my blog, Wilde About History, a blog about the history of the LGBT+ community!

I decided to start this blog to help people, particularly LGBT+ youth, understand the history of the LGBT+ community. Of course, the vast majority of people know the exploits of Rupaul, Tom Daley and Oscar Wilde. However, do they even know about April Ashley, Harvey Milk or Jayne County? The aim of this blog is to inform you who these people are, to educate you on what they did and how these pioneers have directly influenced the world we live in today.

In order to properly examine LGBT+ history, Wilde About History will delve into the tales of these history-makers in fields as diverse as fashion, music and literature. Long term, one of my aims is to delve into larger issues like the criminalisation of the LGBT+ community and the representation of the LGBT+ community in the media, but please bear with me as my writing style evolves into a style capable of handling such vitally important topics.

So here it is, a virtual time-capsule of the history of this community: and I cannot wait to get started!
